After viewing this on youtube.com, I had to post it on the Corner 10 Blog.

I have been a fan of Hip-Hop since I was a small child listening to my big sister blast UTFO, Roxanne Shante, Slick Rick, and many other 80s Hip-hop artists.

It was around the late 80s - early 90s when I decided to move past just being a fan and someone who only listened to Hip-hop. I wanted to create it also!

I started making hip-hop beats when I was in the 7th grade and developed a passion for it. I eventually got into writing rhymes, although I had not really developed my own style right away. At one point, I started really listening to Special Ed's delivery and the patterns he choose to break up his rhyming words. He was standing out to me more than other rappers based on that unique rhyme delivery. I began to take writing rhymes more serious due to the motivation of trying to mimic Special Ed's style.

I eventually developed my own style around my high school years, but I will always remember the influence of Special Ed and his early impact on my writing style.

My good friend Tobias Henry  has been overseas serving in the United States Army for the past few years and is returning home some time this month. I haven't spoken with him since he left, but his safely is always in my prayers. I hope I have the chance to see him again and catch up like old times.
