As promised, The Matrix Engaged trailer is complete and online for your viewing pleasure. It premiered this past Saturday night at Ron and Anna's wedding reception. The entire event was beautiful and I was so glad I was able to be a part of it.

As the video was playing, I saw and heard how much the crowd was into it. To be honest, it was one the greatest feelings I have had in a while. To be my first live action piece that I have ever directed, I can truly say that is was a success.

Although I'm a modest person by nature, I am also a perfectionist who can see the flaws in everything I do, knowing there is always something that can be improved. Although I know there are many things I could have done better with this project, I am proud of the result and I can, and will, only get better from this point on.

I would like to thank my fellow cast members, Alvin Mendoza, Mike Shepherd, Eddie Solis, Casey Stafaci, Ron Garcia, Anna Garcia. You all were great to work with!

Ron and Anna, thank you for this opportunity and approaching me about directing this trailer for you. Even after I told you that I never directed anything live action before, you still trusted me with a project that all your friends and family would see at your wedding.

Thanks Mike and Eddie for assisting me with certain shots and the lighting. This is just the beginning...

The Matrix Engaged

My friends, Ron and Anna, are getting married in October. Ron is a huge fan of the Matrix movies, so he wanted to redo The Matrix trailer with Anna and him playing Trinity and Neo with dialogue changed to fit the theme of marriage. They are planning to show the trailer during their reception. The script was already written, but they needed a director to visually bring their idea to life. They approached me to do that task. They also asked me to play Morpheus.

I have written and directed many short animated piece of my own in the past. Although my animation projects were not simple, directing live action is a  different type of beast. I was up for the challenge though and after we finished shooting, I felt real confident that my first time directing live actors was a success.

Now that production has wrapped, the next test will be in post production. I have to do a excellent editing job to make sure the shots captured are utilized to tell the story Ron and Anna want to get across in less that two and a half minutes. Will the final result be all that I hope it will be? I truly believe so.

I will send a follow up post once I finish editing the trailer. For now, you can view the photos that were taken during the shoot  below.

Enjoy!
